Due to fairly high predicted winds coming from the east, max altitude will be limited to 2000 ft AGL. If launches to that altitude show we are staying well away from the high power lines, the max altitude may be increased.

I will not be able to come to the launch this time so Allan will be in charge.

Hope to see you all in May.

Another good launch for ROCI. Turnout was small but powerful. John Kelly was unable to stay and assume LCO duties today, but he did surprise us and help set up. Allen Howard and I tag teamed the LCO duties today and were able to fly some rockets.

As predicted the heavier winds out of the east posed a challenge to stay away from the power lines and after a simple adjustment flights were landing generally near the pads.  Most all flights stayed below the requested 2000 ft limit although later in the day we did have a dual deploy flight to over 2500 ft.

There were 22 flights today with 2 of them being three motor clusters although only 1 motor lit on one of those flights. also 1 two stage low power flight as well. Motors burned today were:

6-Cs all in clusters and only 4 lighting
3-Ds with 2 from the 2 stage flight
3-Es
6-Fs
1-G
7-Hs
1-J

Overall it was a good day with no lost rockets. Our new launch system worked almost flawlessly and doesn’t seem to suffer from the same connectivity issues as our previous ones. We ended the day around 3:30 as some flyers ran out of motors.  Thanks to Bruce, Mark, Allen, and newcomer Jim for help with breakdown.

We will see some of you at Thuderstruck next weekend and those that are not attending next weekend we will see you in May for ROCIs 2 day event.

Bryan
