I finished upgrading all of the site modules today and have finally eliminated all the legacy code. Future upgrades will be much easier now that this has been completed.

I upgraded the core software for the site to address a few minor security issues. I also upgraded the Forum software to make it easier to use and add new features. The Weather module had be replaced with a more versatile module that allows you to select the city you want to see the forecast for.

See? I told you it was going to be easier!

It will depend a lot on the weather conditions at the time of the launch. Your needs are at the very limit of what the field can handle.

"On April 12th we are starting a 3-week unit on Rocketry. We will be starting by building and learning about water propelled 2 liter bottles as an introduction to rockets. We will then be making and launching some model rockets. We don't have much experience launching the rockets so could use someone to help us launch the rockets. We will be launching rockets twice, on Friday April 23rd at 12:30 am at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds and Friday April 30th at our celebration which is also at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. Those would be the days that we need the most help but if you someone could speak about making model rockets during the week of April 19th-April 22nd before our first launch day. If you and your club members can offer any assistance at all we would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you."

So, who's up to help out with this?

I received this from Mr. Smith awhile back but wasn't able to try to contact him until Friday. I haven't heard back from him yet so I'll try to contact him again tomorrow.

7000' ASL, 6000' AGL

Earlier in the year I posted a revised schedule for our launches this year. These changes were made to avoid conflicts with groups wanting to use site 5 while we were using site 1. After the changes we had no conflicts. Now the AMA has rescheduled other events and moved other groups to site 5 causing more conflicts. As it stands now, there are conflicts that will prevent us from safely flying in both August and September. I'll try to work with the AMA to resolve this but I'm somewhat less than optimistic based on what has transpired at this point.

On that note, we still need to get a couple of good marine batteries before the launch. My vote would be to replace them with the same type that we had before. They cost a bit more than regular batteries but they are sealed so they don't leak. The ones we had worked perfectly for us for several years.

The president has always handled it in the past so Aaron should be receiving the forms athat are required. There is a specific clause that needs to be added to the insurance certificate for the AMA but it should already be there. I can check it out when we get the form to make sure it's correct.

We went through the equipment tonight at the ROCI meeting and found out that we are, in fact, missing some thing. We don't know if these items were taken or if they are in the possession on a member. There are no batteries in the trailer so, unless someone has them to charge them, we need to buy two new ones before the March launch. We only have about half the HPR/MPR pads that we used to have. Did anyone remove some of the pads and store them elsewhere to free up space in the trailer? One low power pad is missing also. There were no PA systems in the trailer either so hopefully someone has those stored elsewhere.
