A few random liftoff pics

Mario, I can't tell if my ROCI forum posts include my photos. Also, I seem to have forgotten how to create a gallery and upload to it. I see the gallery, but can't get any pics selected into to it, to load. Help?

My "Super Phoenix" which is a 7' 5" tall, 4" diameter beast. Terry Bush had some fiberglass fins and centering rings for a phoenix, so I made a standard size out of it, then decided I wanted it to be taller. So I added a couple Public Missile body tubes, and here it is. It has a 54mm motor mount, and it's first flight was on a Cesaroni 2g motor, a J410 red lightning, estimated altitude of just over 2,800 feet. It weighed 2,935 grams before motor and casing.

Here are some crowd pictures. It was a very nice turnout, especially considering how hot it was.

Almost ready to leave the house, the sun is behind clouds, maybe that will keep the heat down a few degrees. Are we all ready to shoot some rockets???

The waiver for launching is activated, the weather is uspposed to be really hot so bring water, and we are ready for saturday launching!!

Steve, will be good to see you there! I will purchase a few of the bigger motors there, once I get settled in with getting the launch going.

Oh yes, I will be there, have been waiting for this! I have got some extra motors, and ready to go with a new rocket too. I will stay all day, and can help with the trailer as well.

As so often happens, the weather changed, and now the launch is on! We will be a little late getting started, but we will be there asap. Please excuse the confusion, the radar maps showed a much different picture at 6 and 7 am, than they do now at 8 am. Rob

Sorry, gentlemen and ladies, the weather in muncie is raining now, and it is forecast to rain again. The radar shows it re-forming in Illinois now, mving east to us. And after the heavy rain/thunderstorms of last night, the recovery fields won't be pretty.

I am cancelling the launch due to those factors. I will call around ang get in touch with those people I have phone numbers for. If you know someone's number that may have been going to the launch, please call them and let them know. Rob

The thunderstorms here in indy just woke me up, so it isn't good. The national weather service now says there is an 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms for muncie, not the original 30% predicted as of friday morning. The weather front is slower to pass thru. The fields are getting soaked too, which is bad for recovery. Steve temple made it partway from dayton, was turned back by weather as well, last night (friday).

I will make a post by 7am here as to the launch status, but I am not optimistic, people. Not a good launch year yet! Rob

The weather may not cooperate on saturday, so check the website, or text me at 317 730 5400, to see if the launch is on. The weather right now is horrible, but it is supposed to be better saturday. Check in anyways, make sure!

Looking for a head count for the launch this saturday. Waiver will be called in later today. Who can bring the trailer up and back? I can bring it up if no one else can, but I am leaving for Michigan afterwards, and can't bring it back. Any ideas? Rob

Gary, I am pretty sure I can make the july 30 event with the Jewish club. Let me look again at the 23rd. At least one of us can do both, that will help.

Hey everybody, what does it look like for our thursday meeting? I also wanted to discuss saturday the 19th, the launch event. I am planning to be there for the first half of the launch, but am travelling to michigan that same day, so I will not be able to stay all day, probably till one or two. So I can help or do all the set up, but who can work the take down and return the trailer?

Gary, i will check my calender, I might be able to do both days, but let me check.

Steve won't be there in june, he is going to southern thunder. So I thought if we want some stuff, we should get going on it.
