Welcome to IndyRockets

This site was created as a resource for anyone interested in hobby rocketry in central Indiana.

This is also the source for information on the Rocketeers Of Central Indiana (ROCI), Section #625 of The National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Feel free to check here for information about ROCIs launch events. The launch events are conducted throughout the warmer months at the Academy of Model Aeronautics' Headquarters and Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. This facility is the finest flying field in the state and ROCI is proud to be the exclusive host of the rocketry events held there. ROCI is not currently conducting meetings as we have lost our meeting place.

Hi Just a reminder that ROCI will be conducting its fall weekend long launch CIRFF Central Indiana Regional Fun Fly
Site 1 at the AMA in Muncie, 11AM-5PM both days (Sept 12 and 13).
We will need someone to tow the trailer to site 1 on Saturday and to return it to storage on Sunday.
Assistance for setting up is requested for 10AM bht days, although Saturday will ne most important.
Tear down at the end of the launch always requires a helping hand as well.
Ceiling is 7000MSL
K motors and below, although that may depend on the launcher. It has been having some problems pushing juice out to 200ft.
We will be collecting launch fees (non ROCI members $10 for one day, $15 for both) ROCI members $5 for one day, $8 for both.
Kids fly free.
Hopefully someone in the club has receipts and tags.

As always in these interesting times, masks, social distancing hand sanitizer are required

Hi John. I have a conflict on Saturday Sept 12, so I will not be able to pull the trailer that day. I plan to come Sunday, so I could tow the trailer back to storage then.

Hi all,
Ok,Looks like we will need someone to tow the trailer to the pavilion for the next launch.
Also, due to all of the uncertainty that has been surrounding our launches, I vote that we waive launch fees for this launch.
launch fees have been used in the past to raise money to keep the club solvent, but as was pointed out in a post prior to the last launch, there are several individuals who have a chunk of money invested in the club, mostly in support of the Naram last year.

I also propose that we try to get as many interested parties together on the 19th of September at 10AM at the AMA to go through the trailer and also work out where we are heading in the future.

Thanks,

You guys can do whatever you want about launch fees but keep in mind that the fees for our two-day events are the only income the club has other than dues. That's how we pay for make-n-take rockets and motors. It also pays for equipment maintenance.

John, SCAM would like to offer ROCI the use of our launch controller system for the September launch if needed. It is a Wilson F/X wireless system. It would be able to run the 200 foot pad or more as needed. Please let me know if there’s an interest.

Hi Mario
Do you know how to get in touch with Gary? I haven't got a clue where the club stands financially.
Thanks,
