TOPIC:

Robert's 75mm Renegade for L1 1 year 4 weeks ago #2946

On the renegade, ejection appeared to be good through the baffle, just 2.5 seconds late :P due to the Universal Delay tool bit being in the wrong place from factory (it came out of the bag like that). I do have a polite QA email into them for that issue - don't know if there will be a response or not.
If I do another cardboard HP at 29mm, probably won't include the baffle as it added a fair bit of weight. In H/I 29mm being underweight doesn't seem to be an issue. I may redo the Renegade in 2.6" or maybe 4" as both tube sizes have an AH profile cone. If Estes re-releases MDRM in 3" then there will be a 3" AH profile too.

Mini-Magg doesn't have a baffle - no room for it. I will be conducting the deployment test with the cone wrapped in Styrofoam packing cloth and the rocket set so that the cone lands softly in grass. Didn't want to conduct on the blacktop at Muncie due to paint crunch.

When I bring the Magg to the next launch it will be 100% QA and I plan to check my delay fixture often.
